November 1995, the first album of Michael Jackson’s nephews and sons of Tito Jackson: Taj (Toriano Adaryll Jackson Jr), Taryll (Taryll Adren Jackson) and T.J. (Tito Joe Jackson) under the group name “3T” is released with 12 tracks and produced by MJJ Productions.
The album sold 3 million copies worldwide with 6 singles under the belt: “Anything” (released on August 27, 1995), “24/7” (released on October 28, 1995), “Tease Me” (released on January 4, 1996), “Why” featuring Michael Jackson (released on January 11, 1996), “I Need You” containing vocals from the King of Pop (released on February 20, 1996) and “Gotta Be You” (released on March 12, 1996).
The album was dedicated to the memory of the band’s mother, Delores Vilma “Dee Dee” Jackson (April 1, 1955 – August 27, 1994).
In early 1997, they went on a hugely successful European tour with their album Brotherhood, which included all of the songs from the album, as well as a Jackson 5 tribute. They were the most successful group in Europe after the Spice Girls! Imagine that!
The group also contributed songs to soundtracks for the films: “The Jacksons: An american Dream” [1992], “Free Willy” [1993], “Free Willy 2” [1995], “Men in Black” [1997] and “Trippin'” [1999].
“Brotherhood” is considered as the biggest success for the group that since released 2 more albums (not under Sony): “Identity” and “Chapter III”
Michael Jackson fans often refer to the album being part of the “HIStory era” due to the 2 songs “Why” and “I Need You” released in the same period, including vocals of Michael and also produced by the King of Pop himself.
The single cover of WHY was shoot during the filming of Michael Jackson’s short film “Stranger in Moscow” as told by Pez Jax in the new book about HIStory “The Story of HIStory“.
