BOSS celebrates Michael Jackson’s Birthday in style

With what’s being billed as the exhibition of the summer now in its second month, “Michael Jackson: On the Wall”  at the prestigious National Portrait Gallery continues to provide many talking points for its visitors.

One of the lead sponsors, HUGO BOSS, became inspired by the Exhibition and mostly the man himself, the King of Pop and decided to do what they do best, make clothing inspired by Michael Jackson!

To celebrate this exhibition and Michael Jackson’s Diamond Birthday, HUGO BOSS will be releasing a new 2018 edition of the “Thriller” album cover BOSS suit, as worn by Michael in 1982. This album remains the biggest selling album in history, with over 105 million worldwide sales and certified 33 times Platinum for its US success.

The Brand will only be releasing 100 pieces of the new suit globally, each marked with an individual number. This white suit remains one of the most iconic styles not only for Michael Jackson but for the 80s era. The new jacket will be modernised, with a slim-fit contemporary design, crafted from lightweight twill and has thin lapels and three-button cuff details. The stylised trousers are made to match, featuring front double pleats as a homage to the iconic design. The suit is completed with mother-of-pearl buttons for a truly striking look (you’ll have to source your own tiger print pocket square. The suit makes a nice change from the numerous standard apparel that have flooded the market in the last 8 years.

In addition to the release of the suit, BOSS will be releasing three unisex T-shirts, each with a tribute to iconic Michael Jackson moments, paying tribute not only to him as an artist, but also as a style icon.

The first T-shirt shows an artwork by the British artist Graham Dolphin. Featuring the legendary Thriller album cover in combination with statements from Michael Jackson fans, collected by Graham Dolphin and rewritten in his signature artistic style. The design is a mix between vintage and modern and produced on to a soft cotton t-shirt with a Jackson silhouette on the back by the neck line.

The second design features an artistic rendering of an iconic image of Michael from the Bad album cover shoot and the collaboration logo on the back.

The third T-shirt is illustrated with a silhouette print of one of his most iconic dance poses and the one chosen by Boss as the collaboration logo. We can already tell this one in particular is going to be a fan favourite. It brings together 2 icons through their trademark logos: Hugo Boss and Michael Jackson

Cut in a slim fit from washed cotton jersey, all exclusive Michael Jackson T-shirts are designed to be worn by both men and women.

All four products will go on sale around his birthday, August 29, online and in selected BOSS Stores worldwide. The project will also be supported by a distinctive social media campaign using the hashtag #BOSSxMichaelJackson

Approximate Prices: Suit for £845 and T-shirts for £55.
