As announced today by MJ Chart Data, Chartmasters has updated sales from streaming and Michael Jackson is now officially the best-selling solo artist of all time.
Top of the list is still held by the Beatles but for a long time, Elvis Presley was the top solo artist of the Best Selling Artists of all time. But now, Michael Jackson has taken the King of Rock & Roll’s throne!
The King of Pop is officially the Best Selling Solo Artist of All Time!
Thanks to a massive increase in streaming and LPs sales.

As a group, you’re right, but if we counted the total number of record sales throughout an individual’s entire career, the all-time top selling artists/acts would probably look something like this:

4) Ringo Starr (Beatles + Solo)
5) Michael Jackson (J5 + Jacksons + Solo)

tbh, I don’t think so. Ringo Starr hardly had any good solo career. Al least, I don’t recall it. Also, you cannot really compare a band to a solo artist. Anyways, the biggest selling solo artist is a HUGE title in itself and even greater as it is of course, a solo effort.
No they only sold more copies than Thriller in the US but worldwide Thriller is still the best album of all time and Michael Jackson is overall the biggest selling solo artist of all time do you understand now.

If you think about it, there is much more music outside of J5 and the Jackson’s that Mike sold very well on. I.E. Rockwells “Somebody’s Watching Me” went at least gold. Michael sold more music than McDonald’s sold burgers. Lol.
Folks can hate all they want, but the numbers don’t lie. The numbers only validate what we know and that is, he was and remains the greatest entertainer of all time and that you can’t silence his music or tarnish his legacy to the degree that folks don’t want his music.
