Donny Osmond will mark 50 years in music later this year by releasing a new album featuring his renditions of songs by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Peter Gabriel.
Soundtrack of My Life, out on on November 3, will be his 60th album and includes his covers of My Cherie Amour by Wonder, Jackson’s number one single, Ben – which Osmond was originally meant to record – and Gabriel’s Don’t Give Up.
56-year-old Osmond has also given a new spin to Elton John’s Your Song, the tune that was playing when Osmond decided he would marry his wife, Debbie in 1978. They now have five sons and a number of grand-children.
Osmond has launched a free app to allow fans access the stories behind the album.
“After fifty years of entertaining, I wanted to do something unique to celebrate a milestone in my career, as well as the launch of my 60th album,“ Osmond says.
“This app was designed to share the music that has affected me throughout the years. These are more than just great songs; each holds personal significance to a long-lasting career. In essence, these songs are the soundtrack of my life . . . so far.”
