Playbill, the Theatre goers magazine which has been heavily promoting MJ The Musical since December 2021, had the exclusivity to go backstage at MJ The Musical on Broadway in New York.
Photographer Jenny Anderson took few preparation shots of the cast before the show, concentrating mostly on the leading role Elijah Rhea Johnson who is playing Michael since April 4 as Myles Frost has left the Broadway production to join the London cast next year.

Meanwhile MJ The Musical has been involved in the Jimmy Awards. The National High School Musical Theatre Awards, more commonly known as the Jimmy Awards, are awards given annually to recognize musical theatre performances by high school students in the United States. Two main awards are given each year, Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor.
The Jimmy Awards has been the catalyst for more than $6,000,000 in educational scholarships to date. This year, a total of 20 awards and scholarships were presented to participants. The winners of the 14th annual Jimmy Awards announced on June 26, 2023, in front of a sold-out audience at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.
