A new survey made by BonusFinder.com collected data from 3,015 Americans to determine which states love Elvis Presley the most.
Participants were asked a series of eight questions as well as four trivia questions about the King of Rock’n’Roll.
According to the results, the state that scores highest in its “Admiration of the King of Rock ‘n Roll” is Washington, home state of Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, the Sonics and Presley’s superstar pop vocal predecessor, Bing Crosby.
The next six states with the most Elvis love are Nevada, New York, Illinois, California, Texas and Alaska. Then comes Tennessee, with a rather Elvis-indifferent ranking at No. 8. Colorado and Wisconsin follow, at 9 and 10.
But in Tennessee, home of Graceland and state of the Elvismania, the result is surprising! Elvis came second behind… Michael Jackson!
Ok the results are tights! Elvis picked up 41.3% while Michael 42.7% so it is really 50/50.
“The survey reveals concerning trends that indicate a decline in Elvis Presley’s recognition and influence in the state he called home for nearly three decades,” said Fintan Costello, managing director of BonusFinder.com — an independent casino review portal, in the press release. At the same time, Costello said, “the findings underline his lasting influence that continues to captivate audiences, transcending geographical boundaries and generations.”
