Cesar Menchaca is a Mexican artist and sculptor that mixing new technics and tradition.
Through various techniques ranging from sketching and molding, to the packaging of his works, he has developed an unprecedented process of collective artistic construction that results in unique pieces that today adorn stages and venues such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Cirque du Solei in Montreal, the esplanade of the Palace of Fine Arts and the Paseo de la Reforma Avenue in Mexico City.
His creations are monumental and vibrant but also depict some public figures and pays tribute to people such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Adalberto Martínez Chávez ‘Resortes’, Cantinflas, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Babe Ruth, Ayrton Senna, Charles Chaplin, María Félix, among others.
All his works are colorful but also based on the Dia de los Muertos feel and obviously, the Michael Jackson representation is just that.
17 large-format pieces (including the Michael Jackson one) from Cesar Menchaca is currently in an exhibition ‘Creative Souls” in the International Museum of the Baroque in Mexico until January 28, 2024.
