OK, this one is not really news but it was too funny to not be mentioned!
A debt collection firm called Barratt Smith Brown has been sending emails that appear to be signed by Michael Jackson, yes, our Michael Jackson, asking for repayments owed to energy companies “Igloo Energy” and “Together Energy”, which both gone busted.
When asked if it had used Michael Jackson’s signature, Barratt Smith Brown admitted that a “processing error” saw it wrongly send “template letter” emails to some former Together Energy customers. It says it has since emailed those affected to apologise.
Can you imagine receiving an email asking you to pay for your bills signed by THE Michael Jackson? Who ever created the template is clearly a Michael Jackson fan, don’t you think?
