As expected, the beginning of the year is always slow for Michael so let’s check the numbers…
But first of all, the song “Chicago” from the album “Xscape” has been certified Gold in New Zealand, meaning it sold over 15,000 units. Also two other songs have been certified in New Zealand: “Rock With You” certified 3 x Platinum (90,000 units) and “Smooth Criminal” certified 2 x Platinum (60,000 units)
Let’s go straight to the UK: “The Essential Michael Jackson” is currently at #19 in the Top 100 Albums and #15 in the Top 100 Streaming Albums. “Moonwalker” is currently at #25 in the Top 50 Music DVDs.
Not far in Ireland, “The Essential Michael Jackson” is at #34 in the Top 100 Albums.
In The Netherlands, “Thriller” is at #45 in the Top 100 Albums
In Germany, “Thriller” is at #75 in the Top Albums.
In Italy, “Thriller” is at #20 in the Top 20 Physical Albums.
In Greece, “Dangerous” is at #57 and “Off The Wall” at #98 in the Top 100 Album Sales.
In Poland, “Thriller” is re-entered at #46 in the Top 50 Vinyls
Now to the USA: “Thriller” is at #83 in the Billboard 200 Albums, #18 in the Billboard 50 Album Sales, #11 in the Billboard 25 Vinyls and #28 in the Billboard 50 Catalogue Albums. The song “Billie Jean” is back in the Billboard Global 200 Tracks at #129 and currently at #77 in the Billboard Global Tracks Excluding the US.
Speaking about “Billie Jean”, the song re-entered the Top 100 Singles in Switzerland!
