Jan Hoek is an artist, photographer and fashionista from the Netherlands. As a Teenager, he looked after a young boy called Bruin Parry.
Today Jan is Bruin’s caregiver and employed him in his art studio, 3 days a week. Jan’s style is unique and worked with fashion designer Duran Lantink and South African Transsexual Sex Workers to create a very peculiar set of photographs which was in few exhibitions.
But what is even more interesting (especially for us, MJ fans), is that Bruin is a huge Michael Jackson fan which his home being covered in Michael’s paintings, photos and a collection of Michael Jackson Memorabilia.
“I’m a huge fan of Michael’s. Michael Jackson, he’s King of pop. He was in the Jackson Five, made Off The Wall, made and sang a lot of songs. I think that’s cool. And he had cool clothes. That’s why I call myself Bruin Jackson.”
Jan helped Bruin to recreate a modern/arty version of “Thriller” sang by the one and only Bruin Jackson!
Jan also created great outfits for Bruin and photographed him numerous times!
Bruin also was featured in a video for local artist/singer LYMA and enjoy modelling and photography.
The pair are a great combination and we actually love what they are doing.
