Extinction Rebellion activists, dressed as zombies, performed Michael Jackson’s Thriller in Glasgow as a bold protest against climate change. In this theatrical display, they called for an end to new fossil fuel projects, transforming into “the undead” to amplify their message.
The activists held banners with messages like “Stop insuring climate criminals!”, “Boycott Howden,” and “Don’t insure EACOP” (East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline). This protest is part of Extinction Rebellion’s broader campaign, Insure Our Survival, which urges the insurance industry to cease underwriting new oil, gas, and coal projects.
Unlike recent protests targeting art or buildings, this performance still effectively captured public attention, emphasizing the urgency of their cause in a creative and impactful way.
