Bradley Hart is an artist from New York and what is exceptional about him is that he is creating paintings from… bubble wrap.
From Marilyn Monroe to Kurt Cobain, he uses massive bubble wrap sheets and fill each bubbles with paint with the help of a syringe.
He insists that all the material used from the bubble wrap taken from museums to the syringes are recycled items. Even within his studio, he will create other artistic pieces from the left overs. Like the sheets in the back of the bubble wrap will give another dimension of the painting. His process creates two paintings at once. Turns out, the drips from those syringes have a magic all their own. The dripping paint from the injected bubbles creates an impressionist work from the plastic sheeting that mirrors the pointillist bubble wrap painting.
!I load thousands of syringes with paint in preparation to begin the injection, I’ve done portraits on the likes of Marylyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, John Lennon” and now working on a huge portrait of Notorious B.I.G..
His inspiration to use this media is from his disease: “Living with multiple sclerosis, and needing to be injecting myself every other day with disease-modifying medications in my thighs, I guess the concept of syringes and needles were in the back of my mind.”
In 2015, Bradley did a Michael Jackson Portrait and it is absolutely beautiful , especially when you think this has been done by hand inserting hundreds of syringes in each bubble!
