Art comes from all angles and all cultures. When Russian born Lyubov Phillipson moved to the U.S. in the 90s and discovered a very interesting way of life size sculptures from the native American, she studied and learn the way of making those creations.
The sculptures are made of people in soft material and life-sized.
She perfectioned the art of making them by incorporating emotions to those figures.
These life size figures are constructed with a lightweight frame and are covered with cotton, to insure movable joints and balance without outside supervision. Facial features, and uncovered skin are screened with nylon material and shaped with needle and thread. Various types of wires form the hands and arms so that their body parts can be moved into different new positions conferring a change of clothing or a new pose. Clothing is specifically created to fit each and every individual figure.
