French singing competition paid tribute to Michael Jackson

“La Star Academy” is a French singing competition from TV channel TF1 where 13 young, wannabe singers enter a sort of music academy where they will refine their craft as singer and performer, with singing courses, dancing courses. All competitors are living together in a French castle and every week they get to perform live on the TV program.

Yesterday night (January 6), the last 6 competitors (Axel, Helena, Julien, Lenie, Pierre and Djebril) performed a Michael Jackson medley which included “I Want You Back”, “BAD” and “Thriller”.

Here a snippet of the performance where all participant wore a glittered glove and had back-up dancers dressed as “Billie Jean” Michael.

Djebril was eliminated from the competition within this episode. You can watch all Season 11 episodes and update at TF1.
