No one does Halloween quite like Heidi Klum. For the past 18 years, the model has celebrated the holiday with her annual party, arriving in a costume more elaborate than the last. Some of her more recent choices include the 95-year-old version of herself, Jessica Rabbit, and Heidi Klum . . . accompanied by five Heidi Klum clones. This year she told Vanity Fair that her costume involved choreography, and now we know why: Klum arrived as Michael Jackson in his 1982 music video “Thriller” after he turns into a werewolf, accompanied by a posse of zombies.
As usual, Klum documented parts of her transformation, which in total took seven hours, on her Instagram. She enlisted the help of the team from Prosthetic Renaissance to apply the layers of prosthetics, hair, and makeup that in the end left her completely unrecognizable.
“Michael Jackson was always such an icon and the ‘Thriller’ video is such an iconic video and I was like, ‘I have to redo that,’” she told People. “Obviously it’s difficult because I can’t dance like Michael Jackson. I don’t think anyone can dance like Michael Jackson, but I tried my hardest.”
Klum’s tribute to Jackson wasn’t without her own added flair. She posted a time-lapse video showing the application of her smokey eye on top of the rugged prosthetics . . . because even zombie werewolves like a little added glamour.
And of course the original deal:
