If you recall, in 2017 we told you that the mansion Michael Jackson rented in the 90s in New York was for sale. The Manhattan mansion at 4 East 74th Street was finally sold in November 2018 for $32 Million.
If you have been visited New York and going on a MJ hotspotting, you will have noticed that the 6 story building was on renovation.
According to one construction worker, during the nuts-to-bolts renovation, they found small, hidden passageways and tunnels all over the home connecting a lot of the rooms.
The home, built in 1898, was also once home to Marc Chagall. It was sold in 2018 by billionaire hedge fund manager Marc Lasry and his wife, Cathy Lasry, for $32 million. It boasted of having “12,745 square feet of living space over six stories, each accessible from a grand oak staircase.”
You might read in tabloids that a worker said “They were small — kind of child-sized, It’s really weird.” We know what they are trying to imply here! But as Michael did not stay very long in it (Michael stayed there from August 1999 to February 2000 but he apparently rented the mansion few times before hand.), it is unlikely Michael knew about those hidden passageways, especially when the discovery took place during an extensive renovation. Still a cool discovery!
