If you are a Londoner, a music lover and, in this case, a Michael Jackson fan, you will know HMV 363 Oxford Street and it will be a big part of your fandom.
The famous store that opened in 1921, was the place to get your Michael Jackson CDs, vinyls, T-shirts or participate to album launches for decades and even Michael himself visited this store numerous times when he was in London.
You might remember the launch of “HIStory” and “Thriller25”, both which took place at their 150 Oxford Street store…
Micheal Jackson was even hounded into the storage room to hide from passionate fans who found out he was in the shop back in the 90s.
Here also some CCTV footage of Michael shopping at HMV:
The century-old music chain closed the flagship London store in 2019 after going into administration. It was then taken over by Sunrise Records. It was a really sad day for all Michael Jackson fans in London or in the UK.
HMV understood the fans and what they wanted. MJVibe was even trusted by HMV to run the official launch of “Xscape” album in 2014 or to do competitions to promote the re-release of “Off The Wall” in 2016.
HMV was also a great partner to Kingvention, the Michael Jackson Fan Convention, since 2016 until closure in 2019. They believed in the convention and supported MJVibe to promote Michael Jackson.
HMV is returning to its iconic Oxford Street store after being closed for four years. The shop is reopening this Friday (24 November) at 363 Oxford Street.
MJVibe is welcoming back HMV 363 and we hope to be able to work with the store again for future Michael Jackson events and promotion! SEE YOU ON FRIDAY!
