If you recall our articles [APRIL and MAY] announcing more Michael Jackson personal and stage items to be sold through Julien’s Auctions this week-end in New York, one of the highlight of the auction was a red neoprene vinyl jacket created by Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush for Michael Jackson to wear during the 1996-1997 History world tour.
It scored more than four times the auctioneers’ estimate of USD 40,000 to USD 60,000.
Also sold for $35,200, a custom right-hand, blue spandex glove, completely covered on front and back with deep blue Swarovski loch rosen crystals and created by Bill Whitten. The glove is made to resemble the night sky with the addition of silvered crystal star-form beads. The glove is in the style of the glove seen in the opening sequence of Michael Jackson’s 198…8 film Moonwalker as the camera sweeps across his dressing room table.
It is not know yet if all items have been sold.
