Fans have been campaigning for “Thriller” to hit 1 Billion on YouTube last Halloween but instead, “Beat It” has finally reached this landmark today!
With the short film which had a 4K revamp last year, it has been more popular with the video platform viewers and has now became the 3rd Michael Jackson video to reach the amazing 1 Billion mark!
“Beat It” is now joining “Billie Jean” and “They Don’t Care About Us” (Brazil Version) to the Billion Club.
And “Thriller” is not far behind so we could see another Michael Jackson Short Film entering this club sooner than expected!
Meanwhile, let’s celebrate this milestone by watching “Beat It”, in 4K please!
Michael is the first solo artist of the 20th century to accomplish this but is not the holder of the most videos (3) over 1 billion views. Colombian singer J Balvin as 12 videos which entered the billion club and Bad Bunny has 7. “Baby Shark Dance” is still holding first position in the club with over 13 Billion views followed by “Despacito” from Luis Fonsi with nearly 9 Billion, “Johny Johny Yes Papa” from LooLoo Kids with nearly 7 Billion. “Gangnam Style” from Psy who was the first artist to enter the club in 2012 is currently at the 11 place with nearly 5 billion views. All set in the 21st century.
Michael is currently not even in the Top 30 most viewed YouTube videos and Ed Sheeran has already 3 videos within the top 30 with “Shape of You” (6.14 Billion – #5), “Thinking Out Loud” (3.69 Billion – #22) and “Perfect” (3.60 Billion – #25).
