“Leaving Neverland”?? What is that? Mute who? Well, clearly not Michael Jackson!
According to numbers from BuzzAngle, The US Music Industry Report on Consumption, Michael’s music has soared in 2019.
To date, Michael Jackson’s numbers for Album Sales including streaming, downloads, and CD purchases are up 15.7% over 2018. His total at this point last year was 425,330. This year it’s 498,806.
Michael Jackson’s CD sales are down slightly, but that’s normal for any artists in the world with the decline of CDs. His streaming numbers are a different story, however. His streaming (audio, video, etc) is up 39.7% over last year.
Michael Jackson’s total streaming so far in 2019 is 1,127,200,908. Yes, over 1 billion!!!
Roughly a third of Michael Jackson’s album sales this year come from “Thriller” and its singles, and individual tracks.
It seems that Dan Reed and co. have failed to mute Michael Jackson and some radios in the world are turning back to Michael’s best hits.
The fans have also been actively listening to the King of Pop since the release of the fictional movie! So a huge thanks to the fans! Keep going!
