Producers of MJ The Musical have announced new casting today as the smash hit London production enters its second year in the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre. With three Olivier Award nominations, including Best New Musical, the production has now extended its run until March 28, 2026.
Jamaal Fields-Green is sticking around in the lead role, making history as the only actor to play MJ in three different productions—Broadway, the U.S. national tour, and now in London. He’s joined by some fresh faces, including KoKo Alexandra as Katherine Jackson/Kate, Joshua C Jackson as Berry Gordy/Nick, and Michael Conley as Dave. Wilson Kiiru will take on Jermaine Jackson, while Buna McCreery-Njie plays Marlon Jackson. Other new additions to the cast include Fraser Stewart, Filippo Coffano, Ike Fallon, Rishard-Kyro Nelson, Nay-Nay, Darnell Mathew-James, Gabrielle de Souza, and Jenay Naima.
Returning cast members include Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael, Philippa Stefani as Rachel, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson/Quincy Jones, Matt Gonsalves as Alejandro, Kieran Alleyne as MJ Alternate and Standby for Michael, and André Phipps as Standby for MJ and Standby for Michael.
Also in the cast are Milan Cacacie, Tevin Daniel, Hanna Dimtsu, Aden Dzuda, Christopher Gopaul, Kalisha Johnson, George Ross, Lydia Sterling, Charlotte-Kate Warren, and Tavio Wright. Playing Little Michael are Ari Adebiyi, Zane Chaba, Cristiano Cuino, Joel Molin, and Zayne Tayabali, while Miles Jabbie, Kristiano Ricardo, Ashton Robertson, and Asher Swaray-Gray will play Little Marlon.
The show’s creative team includes set designer Derek McLane, lighting designer Natasha Katz, costume designer Paul Tazewell, sound designer Gareth Owen, projection designer Peter Nigrini, and hair and wig designer Charles LaPointe. Jason Michael Webb is the music director, with musical supervision by David Holcenberg, who also co-orchestrates with Webb. Casting is handled by Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher, with young performer casting by Amy Beadel for Grindrod Burton Casting.
The Broadway production of MJ won four Tony Awards in 2022, including Best Actor in a Musical for Myles Frost, Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design, and Best Sound Design. With its continued success, the London production remains a must-see for fans of Michael Jackson’s music and dazzling stage performances.
