Sydney has now officially welcomed MJ The Musical. On March 8, celebrities have walked the red carpet at the Lyric Theatre to watch the Official Estate Musical.
Prince Jackson, chaperoned by Karen Langford from the Michael Jackson Estate, was present and also took a private room in the theatre to answer to local media.
Lynn Nottage and Christopher Wheeldon, respectively the playwriter and Choreographer Director came in for the occasion, all the way from New York. Rich & Tone Talauega also showed up to support the cast and crew.
Kerri-Anne Kennerley, The iconic Australian television personality added a local touch of glamour and Keiynan Lonsdale who we know is a massive Michael Jackson fan, the Australian actor and singer proudly walked the red carpet with a “Thriller” t-shirt.
Other notable attendees at the premiere included the musical’s producer, Michael Cassel, as well as television personalities Samantha Armytage, Sonia Kruger, Kylie Gillies, and David Campbell. Musician-turned-Olympic swimmer Cody Simpson and members of The Wiggles were also in attendance.
Jermaine D’Vauz, a famous Australian influencer and Michael Jackson fan, was the Red Carpet host, interviewing the celebrities while they entered the theatre and after the show. D’Vauz was also the host for the media press day, the day before and interviewed Nottage and Wheeldon on stage.
