Not even a month after the first drop of New Official MJ Merch, the Estate just released the volume No.2! Feels a bit too quick to be honest, especially for the fans who want to purchase all.
This time it’s all about “Thriller 40”. Well, either they late of a year or as all the graphics used are from the video, then they are a bit early and got the date wrong as the video got released in 1983 and not 1982.
As for the graphics, they do look like the bootleg versions we used to get in the 80’s & 90’s but that is just my feelings. And again using fonts that has nothing to do with Michael. Why not using the Video Thriller font?
This time, we are getting 3 t-shirts, a hoodie, a jumper, a cap and a tote bag:
Note that they said in their promotion “Order now and receive in time for Halloween – the perfect way to celebrate the season in style while showing your love for the King of Pop.”
6 weeks away? So the Estate is still using dodgy shipping process and clearly those items are not made yet! Also to note that the first drop sold out which were a bit suspicious as the first items to sell out were the ones with “Michael Jackson Official Merchandise” logo on which we cannot see fans wearing personally!
About the wearable, paid influencers were so quick to comment on MJ Merch Instagram, all pretty much saying the same thing and if you look at their profiles, they are mostly white females models who are clearly NOT going to wear those apparel. None of those people are fans nor have anything to do with Michael Jackson nor even ever posted about Michael.
I am not sure what the Estate is playing at here. Those people are not going to wear their products and are clearly commenting because they have been paid to do so. Meanwhile, fans comments have been removed or ignored. That’s the way to alienating your core customer base! But I guess Karen knows what she is doing, just like the Sapphire Q&A!
