The band will be bringing its 1981 Canadian concert to theaters around the world
Queen have released a trailer for their upcoming compilation of love songs, Queen Forever, which includes three previously unreleased tracks, all featuring frontman Freddie Mercury. The clip spotlights the group’s duet with Michael Jackson, “There Must Be More to Life Than This.” “When I was spending some time in [Los Angeles] with friends, [Jackson] said, ‘Why don’t we try something?’” Mercury said in archival footage, interspersed with pictures of the band and Jackson together, in the clip. “One day it will probably be finished.”
Queen Forever also includes “Let Me in Your Heart Again,” which guitarist Brian May had written for the group’s 1984 record The Works, and a new, Queen-bolstered, “stripped-down” version of the Mercury solo recording “Love Kills,” a song that originally appeared on Giorgio Moroder‘s 1984 score for the 1927 silent film Metropolis. The compilation is due out November 11th.
“It’s a compilation but it will have this new material on which nobody in the world has ever heard and I think people will really enjoy it,” May told BBC Radio in May. “It’s the big, big epic sound. It wouldn’t have been if we hadn’t have done this restoration job. We only had scraps, but knowing how it would’ve happened had we finished it, I can sit there and make it happen with modern technology.”
The band has also posted a trailer for its classic concert movie Live at Montreal, filmed in 1981. The film will be getting a worldwide cinematic release in Ultra HD and 5.1 surround sound on November 24th.
