Like Quincy or not, this is great timing to fight against this disgusting HBO/Channel 4 “Documentary”
We all know what Quincy has said in the recent years about Michael Jackson but he will celebrate Michael’s music in still in London in June!
For the first time ever, Quincy Jones will present the world-changing albums he created with Michael Jackson: ‘Off The Wall’, ‘Thriller’, and ‘Bad’, live in concert.
This one-off show at The O2 on Sunday 23 June will see all three records performed back to back by a symphony orchestra – conducted by Jules Buckley and Quincy himself – accompanied by an array of special guests to be announced.
Returning to the UK after one of the most talked about concerts of 2018, ‘Quincy Jones – A Life In Song’ – which The Times called ‘… a ritzy extravaganza’, and the Evening Standard called ‘… a crowd-pleasing, star-studded…’ show – Quincy will introduce and host the evening, which will feature never before seen video of the making of each album in between the live performances, picking apart the intricacies from a hat-trick of records that are a highlight in an unparalleled body of work.
1979’s ‘Off The Wall’, 1982’s ‘Thriller’, and 1987’s ‘Bad’, all represent a unique, triptych landmark in popular culture, leading to both unrivalled commercial and critical success, as well as era-spanning influence.
The three albums have sold together in excess of 150 million copies worldwide, racking up an uncountable list of platinum discs and awards, including both ‘Off The Wall’ and ‘Thriller’ being inducted into the GRAMMY Award Hall of Fame in 2008.
Forging a link between disco, R&B and pop, the albums spawned some of the most popular songs of all time, including ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’, ‘Beat It’, ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Smooth Criminal’, and more.
A celebration of three lifetime-defining albums, Quincy Jones will present ‘Off The Wall’, ‘Thriller’, and ‘Bad’ live for what will be one of the most memorable concert experiences of all time.
Tickets are on sale Friday 15 February at 9am.

I have no respect at all for Quincy any more. But I will put that aside to appreciate the programming of this concert coming a couple of days ahead of the 10th anniversary or Michael’s passing. I notice in the promo graphics there is no mention of Michael’s name, as though these were Quincy’s albums. I know he was a great producer, but you can’t tell me the albums would have been as great (considering by the Bad album, Michael wrote most of the material) if the producer had been working with some other artist.
