Snoop Dogg Has an Unreleased Song with Michael Jackson

With 14 studio albums to his name and over 20 years in the business, Snoop Dogg is undoubtedly a pillar in hip-hop. Uncle Snoop has worked with everyone from Pharrell, The Alchemist, 2Pac and Dr. Dre to Katy Perry, Willie Nelson and Robyn, marketing himself into everyone’s favorite OG West Coast feature. And while the 44-year-old Long Beach native is still itching to work with names like Pete Rock, he recently revealed a crazy collab with a pop legend that has yet to see the light of day.

Snoop stopped by Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning show last week (Aug. 8) while in New York for The High Road Tour. While Ebro, Rosenberg, Laura and Snoop talked about everything from weed strands to his son leaving football, Snoop made it a point to talk about how he was mentored early in the rap game by music titan Quincy Jones. That led Rosenberg to ask their guest if he had ever spent time with pop icon Michael Jackson.

“Yeah, me and Michael got a song together,” said Snoop nonchalantly. “I don’t know if it ever came out though.”

Snoop then proceeded to tell stories of talking on the phone with MJ and even offering him weed at a party one time, complete with a soft-toned Michael Jackson impression. Check out the interview snippet at the 23-minute mark.

Speaking of mentors, Snoop also touched on his recent activism in response to continuous acts of police brutality against Black men in America. Snoop, along with fellow West Coaster The Game, organized a march to the Los Angeles Police Headquarters back in July to, as Snoop explained around the 8-minute mark, reacquaint Black residents of L.A. with the police officers hired to protect them.

“Some days you got to be for the cause. And the cause that day was to get an understanding and reintroduce ourselves to the Los Angeles Police Department and let them reintroduce themselves to us and the community because felt there was a breakdown in communication. That’s why a lot of this violence has been happening.”
