MJ The Musical and The Estate of Michael Jackson have created a Docuseries about the Musical.
The first episode was released presenting Myles Frost who will debut his career on Broadway playing the role of Michael Jackson in the musical.
Frost landed the title role after Tony nominee Ephraim Sykes left citing scheduling conflicts. “All of his talents point towards a new rising star. I’m very much looking forward to working with him to shape the role of Michael Jackson,” Wheeldon said in a statement at the time.
So we can expect more episodes showing every single performers and maybe production team members.
But why this docuseries? MJ ONE by Cirque du Soleil or even THIS IS IT did not get this treat.
After ‘Leaving Neverland’, the critics hammered the musical with some saying this should not be happening and open the dialogue on “Cancel” culture.
We believe that this is an attempt from the Estate to humanise the people who are taking part in the musical and distance the public opinion on Michael Jackson away from the performance of the actors; using sympathy by showing their lives achievements.
This is also maybe to win over few fans after Lynn Nottage’s gaff when she said in multiple news outlets that she believes Wade and James.
It is clear though that the Estate is putting all their efforts to the Musical with paid articles, adverts, and now a docuseries but ticket sales have been very slow still despite all this.
The show is to open previews on December 6th with full on shows to start on February 1st, 2022.
I have tickets for a matinee in January. I hope he does the matinees too!
Leaving Neverland was a one sided mockumentary fill with lies. The media has not said a word about the the judge dismissed both Wade and James case. You know were they were trying to get millions of dollars. And anyone who believe that crap LN should not have anything to do with the show.
