The Michael Jackson Estate released a message on social medias just a few hours after the announcement of the death of artist and singer Prince.
Another great artist gone too soon. The world will always have the joy of his music. RIP Prince. pic.twitter.com/hxgAMC6jF0

Despite positioning themselves in two different genres, they were compared through out the 80s as their styles (and hair) became symbols of an 80s musical movement.
Michael Jackson and Prince were supposed to do ‘BAD’ as a duet as suggested by Quincy but the lyrics did not satisfy Prince who walked out of the project and the rest is History.
Both superstars crossed path few times during their careers. Here’s a video of Michael Jackson. Prince and James Brown sharing the same stage:
Brian Vibberts who worked on the History album shared a story that Prince visited Michael on July 14, 1994 during the recording of the album in New York at the Hit Factory Studio. Apparently the both were in talk about a duet but unfortunately nothing was recorded. Prince stayed for few hours talking to Michael in the middle of the night and then left the studio.
Over the years, many stories have revolved around a supposed rivalry between the gloved one and the purple one but this was often merely tabloid fodder. Both became hugely successful stars in their own right and represented a golden age of unique talent and expression.
Rest in Peace Prince! Your music will stay on Earth for ever!
