Mandatory evacuation orders were issued Friday evening for a portion of the affluent Brentwood area of Los Angeles as the Palisades Fire rapidly spread.
The wildfire, the largest in the Los Angeles region, posed a threat to landmarks such as the Getty Center and extended into parts of the Brentwood and Encino neighborhoods. Authorities ordered evacuations in Encino, leading to the closure of Hayvenhurst Avenue on Friday night.
Notably, Hayvenhurst Avenue is home to the iconic Jackson family estate, purchased in 1971 for $250,000 and affectionately named “Hayvenhurst.” The Jackson family resided there for decades, with the remaining members moving out around 2010-2011 to the Calabasas area. Since then, the estate has been used for charity events hosted by Prince Jackson.
It is also the place where Michael recorded many demos for “Off The Wall” and “Thriller”.
The potential spread of the wildfire to this historic property would be a devastating loss for the Jackson family, the Estate of Michael Jackson, and fans worldwide.
We hope the Estate has not left any valuable or iconic items on the property. It’s also concerning to consider that three warehouses containing Michael Jackson’s personal belongings—such as cars, costumes, and even the Neverland gate—are located within the Los Angeles area. The exact locations of these warehouses are unknown to the public, and we can only hope that none of them are in the fire’s path.
This week, wildfires have scorched over 35,000 acres across the Los Angeles area, claiming at least 11 lives and forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate.
We will provide updates as the situation unfolds.

UPDATE Jan. 13, 2025:
The Palisades Fire has burned 23,707 acres, destroying numerous homes, businesses, and landmarks, and has spread westward along Pacific Coast Highway toward Malibu. As of Sunday morning, it was 11% contained.
Evacuation orders or warnings are in effect for parts of Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Santa Monica, Calabasas, Brentwood, and Encino. Over 12,000 structures remain at risk, with more than 5,300 already damaged or destroyed.
Despite some progress in containing fires and protecting communities, firefighters face challenges from strong winds expected late Monday through Wednesday, which could lead to explosive fire growth. Officials urge residents to take evacuation orders seriously, as every second could be life-saving.
Everyone has known this was all going to happen for many years now. If anything is totally lost that is because of incompetence.
