If you recall, in January 2020, Tito, Jackie and Marlon were in Indiana for the break ground of the upcoming Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana.
The reason was that the famous Hard Rock Casino will have a Jackson Family Museum inside the complex.
Due to COVID-19, we haven’t heard much more since but construction is nearly completed and yesterday they have unveiled the famous 37 foot tall Hard Rock Guitar is front of the impressive building!
During the ceremony that took place on April 8, 2021, the Casino also revealed a very special item that will be in the Jackson Family Museum: Joe Jackson’s guitar!
The Guitar was owned by Joe Jackson and one day, Tito picked it up and started to play while his father was at work. When Joe came home and found a broken string, he asked Tito to play and Jackie and Jermaine started singing over what Tito was playing… the rest is history!
“They were very amenable to providing the artifacts, This is a very iconic piece of memorabilia,” said Giovanni Taliaferro, director of Memorabilia Design for Hard Rock International, who is responsible for securing artifacts at all Hard Rock Casinos.
The organisers also revealed that Michael Jackson Beat It Jacket he wore for the short film will be also among the memorabilia to be on display there.
Taliaferro said additional musical artifacts from the Jackson family and from other Gary and Indiana musicians such as the Kinsey Brothers, Crystal Taliefero, who grew up in Hammond and Gary, and John Mellencamp, will also be on display.
Matt Schuffert, president of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, said he’s hopeful that some members of the Jackson family will be at the casino’s grand opening on May 14.
