On December 16 last year, Jönköpings Skridskoklubb, a non-profite figure skating association in Sweden organised a show in tribute to Michael Jackson called “This is us”.
The Ice skating show of 5 hours was nicely put together with some classic Michael Jackson songs such as “Thriller”, “Billie Jean” and “Smooth Criminal”.
The audience of more than 1,500 was treated to a breathtaking spectacle, including a mesmerising duet by the Poon brothers to the infectious beat of the Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’, and other captivating group routines.
Part of the show were 4 British ice-skaters from Basingstoke: Sebastian Poon, Nathaniel Poon, Ruby Hayter, and Helen Gardiner. Guided by the expertise of Olympian Andrew Place, the team of Sebastian, Nathaniel, Ruby, and Helen showcased their artistry.
Sebastian and Nathaniel who have been ice-skating since the age of 6, have shined during the show and they are dreaming of representing Team GB one day.
