As far as we are aware, only two Thriller 40 Fan Event Parties happened last night.
The first one organised by Sony Music Sweden took place in Stockholm in a venue. There were drinks and headphones used for a silent disco, posters with the controversial logo and merch which matched that from the Dusseldorf event.
Meanwhile in Paris, the fan event organised by Sony Music France in an underground club where fans dance to Michael’s music (and weirdly Jermaine Jackson), play the Michael Jackson Experience game and take pictures in front of a roll-up banner. Michael Jackson themed drinks were served. However, they only played 3 songs of the CD2 of the new album and no merchandise were available. Salif Lasource, the French Street Dancer, and Arno Bani were present.
Here a fan video of the event:
Far from what the Estate and Sony promised: “midnight playbacks, screenings of the short films, themed food and drinks, competitions, giveaways and much more.”, both events lack of …. Michael Jackson or any thoughts behind the event and we cannot even call those “Fan event parties in our opinion!
But also where are the promised parties in Milan, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Taipei City, Hong Kong, Lima and Santiago? If you have attended one those, please let us know!
The question we’re asking is, are these events reflective of an artist of Michael’s stature and the biggest-selling album in the world? The Scream album launch parties were much larger in size, had a more focused theme and were a huge success – surely Thriller should be even better?!
