Hector has posted a reaction video on the announcement of the Estate of Michael Jackson releasing a range of items to celebrate Michael Jackson’s HIStory album.
Hector expressed how he feels about the design and the range that the Estate released on May 30 at midnight using the art work of the double A single (actually it is the maxi single cover of) “Scream/Childhood”.
Hector is not the only one to be disappointed by the choice of imagery. Many fans took on social media to express their opinions. Fans have been comparing the Prince’s estate who released box sets and amazing merchandise with the MJ releases.
The fans’ ideas have been flooding internet with “Why not releasing the HIStory Tour on DVD/Blu-ray” “Put HIStory short films on HD/4K on youtube” “HIStory is more relevant today than ever, do better” “Why release a box set for THIS IS IT and not HIStory” “Give us at least the album remastered/repackaged”…

The idea of doing just clothing for a special anniversary was already done for DANGEROUS 25 in 2016 and most of the t-shirts were cancelled and never produced due to poor demand. Lesson not learned it seems as the Estate gives the same treatment to HIStory 25.

I remember when I saw the cover 25 years ago and feeling disappointed then, so 25 years later… need I say anything more! One of my friends is a Prince fan just like me with MJ, they get such awesome releases… I guess the wrong people have ahold of the reigns. Jay
one can only truly say the wrong people who inherited michael jackson’s what he left us ruin what doesn’t matter a bit I understand well that michael actually didn’t want to work with John branca anymore he fired in yes that he hired again true a big mistake
estate 0 cares about the fans but the fans are the most important
I have to say it is a cheek from the estate this album belongs more honored with bonus material Unreleased songs + concert what the estate is now releasing for the anniversary is very frustrating next to nothing
I am not sure what the Estate is playing at. They would behind-the-scenes video from the HIStory recording sessions and tours, and long with the songs that were turned down. They would have the testimonies and stories of those who worked on the album. They would have the endless notes Michael kept every time he did literally anything.
But what do we get? Jumpers. Poorly made jumpers.
Can’t they throw together a documentary with Spike Lee? Can’t they release an extended album? Can’t they compile a book filled with insider stories?
It is not hard to keep Michael Jackson fans happy, and if they did, it would be like printing money. And yet… jumpers.
