Did you know… when Michael Jackson nearly cameo in Blade II?
“Blade” is a vampire horror action movie with martial arts and groundbreaking visual effects from 1998 featuring Wesley Snipes as a half-vampire / half human who became a vampire hunter. The movie was such a success that plans for a sequel was drawn in 1999 with a release in 2002.
Wesley Snipes told that Michael Jackson was supposed to have a non-verbal role in the movie during the House Of Pain sequence where character Nyssa played by Leonor Varela, encounters a vampire unpacking bags filled with gore.
“Michael actually asked me if he could be in Blade II. The great Michael wanted to be in one of the Blade movies, to be a tough guy. I was like, “Mike, which one you gonna do? You wanna play one of the vampires?” He was like, “No! I wanna be like Blade’s friend — I wanna fight with you!” I said, “Oh Mike, you got jokes.” He was like, “No, I’m serious!””
Michael later on dropped out of the idea of the cameo in Blade II for scheduling reasons and the scene was shot with another actor but it didn’t make the cut to the final movie anyway. We guess that as Michael couldn’t play the part he wanted, he declined with “scheduling” issue but we all know that the same year he cameo for “Men In Back 2”
It would have been amazing to see Michael in a horror movie and t see Michael and Wesley on screen again since the “BAD” short film! If only…
